Thank you to everyone who donated to dear Maeve’s family. Donating to Maeve is an extension of loving Beau, so it doesn’t surprise me that you are doing it so well. If you didn’t have a chance to donate, please consider doing so here.

I know it’s easy to read this, and not donate. I trust how you spend your money.
But also, if you are reading this, please consider that just because our family is (seemingly) through (most of) the woods, there are hundreds of other families being pummeled by the financial realities of pediatric cancer. If every subscriber to this blog could spare $20, Maeve’s family would have enough to to fly their children to Philadelphia so they can all be together for a portion of the *long* 6-week process. It’s $20 for you, it’s everything for this family.
The next season of writing is going to be on the siblings. I can feel it brewing.
Ok, moving on.
‘Of Medicine and Miracles’
A couple interesting things have happened in the last couple weeks, but when I have come here to write about them, other things seem to come out. One topic is time-sensitive, so I am here today to make sure the info gets published.
You may recall that when we attended the Believe Ball with the Emily Whitehead Foundation in September of 2022, we were able to attend a showing of the documentary, “Of Medicine and Miracles.”
This documentary details the development of CAR T therapy as a modality in cancer treatment, and the career of Dr. Carl June and the other researchers who have committed their life to the science.

Here is the announcement from the Emily Whitehead Foundation:
The Emily Whitehead Foundation is excited to share that the award-winning documentary “Of Medicine and Miracles” featuring Emily’s journey from patient to survivor is available to stream online for a limited time. The film, from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ross Kauffman, follows Dr. Carl June as he pioneers CAR T-cell research and – through the telling of Emily’s story – offers a beacon of hope to patients and caregivers facing their own adversity.
Rent Of Medicine and Miracles

It is $4.99 to rent. Best $4.99 you’ll spend this month. This year.
We invite you to match that rental purchase (or give more generously!) with a donation to the Emily Whitehead Foundation. Your gift will help us support families fighting childhood cancer and raise awareness and funding for advanced therapies like immunotherapy.
